details of: simply breakfast

A couple semesters ago I took Philosophy of Food. I know it's weird, but I really do like talking about the way we eat: when, with who, why, how, what, etc. Since that time I've started watching the food network (actually last night a restaurant in my grandparents city, that I've been eating at since birth, was on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives), spending more time grocery shopping, thinking more about what to make for myself and for others, and I've also found some food blogs I really love. I think my favorite is Simply Breakfast. She just posts a picture of whatever she ate that morning. So I know what you're thinking, "Okay... You're a little bit crazy..." but it really inspires me to take better care of myself and pay more attention to the way I nourish and sustain myself. It's not just about rushing into the kitchen and pouring milk over whatever cereal I manage to grab first - though, and let's be honest here, that happens. I guess the incredibly long-winded point is, for many reasons, I decided to imitate Simply Breakfast. For the last couple days I've been eating Fage ("fah-yeh") yogurt. It's an organic Greek yogurt that I fell in love with in Athens last summer. I'm not man enough to eat it without honey, and I like the tartness of raspberries. If I'm eating alone, I like to have something to read or listen to. Today it was Ingrid. I love her.

  1. You have a way with words, my friend. I heart you.

  2. That is so interesting!!

number 1 ... i want to take a philosophy of food class, that intrigues me

number 2 ... you'll have to introduce me to fage, it sounds divine!
