actual musical details

I think it would be wrong if I didn't share one of my newfound loves with you all. The past few weeks, my music had become profoundly stale: Nothing new and no one to turn to. Enter Pandora Radio.

You start by picking out an artist, and the magic begins. You can just listen to the songs that come up, or you can give each song a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Based on the songs you like, Pandora identifies the musical details of that song (i.e. major key tonality, punk influences, basic rock structure, subtle use of vocal harmony, etc.) and provides more songs with similar details.

In the last 30 minutes I have been rockin the following mix:
  • Corrine Bailey Rae: Till It Happens to You
  • Iron & Wine: Naked As We Came
  • U2: All I Want is You
  • Some of The Shins
  • Some of The Editors

  1. naked as we came! bahh. i love that song so much. "if i leave before you darling don't you waste me in the ground . . .one of us will die inside these arms eyes wide open, naked as we came one will spread our ashes round the yard!" loves.

  2. isn't "cradle to the grave" in fact "all i want is you"?

  3. alan (do I know any alans?): yes it is...I will be fixing that now.

  4. I love Pandora. It's how i found A rocket to the Moon and the meat puppets. Makes me all sorts of happy.

I try to respond to comments if I have your email :)
