Dear Otis,

Picture from Mackenzie, who is entirely too wonderful for giving me this picture at 1:45 in the morning. In this elevator - Gable, Mackenzie, Michelle, Heather, Jona, me, Adam, Stuart, Lance, Matthew, and Breezy
You and I don't spend much time together because you are the slowest elevator in all of time. Still, you and I shared the happiest moment of my DC experience thus far, so I'm glad you're here. As you know, we didn't leave for Kramerbooks until after midnight, and while that may or may not have been a responsible decision, it was the greatest decision I’ve made in 2010. I haven’t laughed that hard in weeks. Surrounded by books, desserts, and hilarious people, I was unreservedly happy. But the best part of the night was with you, when you took us up to our rooms. I felt like I was going home, and I felt close to everybody. I mean, eleven people in an elevator, you're going to feel "close.” But more than that, I felt close.

Thanks for that,
