The crowd in a rare moment of calm. Most of the time people were singing patriot songs, chanting profanities, etc. When the US scored, Jona proved himself the best home teacher ever, and shielded me from the beer that sprayed everywhere.
I can't remember if I told you when I met you this afternoon, I was on my way to meet Jona (+ University of Utah interns) at Dupont Circle for the World Cup. I don't know why you turned to me and said, "Ça va bien?" but I'm glad you did. It had more to do with your patience than my abilities, but I had no idea that my French could survive a 15 minute metro ride through the city, and I was so excited to talk to you. Enjoy the last few days of your workshop, and good luck on that flight back to Burkina Faso.

à bientôt alors,
