Summer Solstice,

Sun finally setting... taken on the drive on the 690. Maybe you can't tell, upstate NY is beautiful.
It’s fitting that my first official day of work was the longest day of the year; it felt that way. Despite the many Party phone calls, temp agency documents, campaign emails, and other “distractions” I spent a lot of time thinking about the past six months, and where I’ll be six months from now. For whatever reason, the solstices have always been like this for me– orienting and reflective. I can’t believe how much has changed since winter solstice, and how far away I am from where I anticpated I would be. Despite my deepest wishes the days are getting shorter now, and I am less certain than ever about my future. However, in December, wherever I am, I’m sure I’ll be ready for the cosmic pendulum to swing me back into summer, whatever that holds.

  1. I wish I would have discovered this post back before your blog was privatized so I could share it with everyone.
Write a book for me ok?
Then let me be your stylist and you can pay me loads of dollars to go shopping with you when you're rich.

I try to respond to comments if I have your email :)
