Dear Siena,

the week before school started, me and Dad went to the bookstore and bought all my books. I love them. Just looking at them fills my little heart with joy.
Alyson tells me you’re local! Since my orientation week was packed with Freshman year parallels, I feel an agreeable symmetry from your proximity. It's just that this time, instead of 12 credits worth of generals, I have 15 credits worth of 600-level Law classes (Legal Research and Writing, Torts, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, and Contracts). I wanted to add some undergraduate classes but was told I could take them only if they directly apply to law I’m studying and the dean approves it; I didn't even bother formulating a defense of integrating Chicana Poets or Volleyball into my class load. Frankly, I don’t know what I was thinking anyway, since my studying schedule for the semester almost precludes eating and sleeping. It reminds me of when we lived in Arreta Gardens and I was taking 21 credits and ignoring all our friends. Those were the good days.

Hope to see you, Miles, and Cyrus soon,

  1. Yay! I now feel that we are kindred spirits...although we have never met! What, no Property! Oh man, you are lucky to wait on that one! Haha! I am taking Torts and Civ. Pro. with you so we can be blog study buddies. Haha! Good luck!

  2. i hate all the books in the whole world

  3. Hi Brit. Good luck with law school. Hi Sienna and Miles. I'm assuming Cyrus is your child. That is neat. Congratulations.

I try to respond to comments if I have your email :)
